Jean did her PhD work in Adult Education with a focus on Adult Literacy. She is considered a subject matter expert for working with the lowest literacy learners.
She has been volunteering with literacy students since since 2004. Since 2oo6, she has tutored a class of elder Liberian refugees who arrived in the US never having touched a pencil, book or paper, and speaking no English, and found she learned more about teaching reading than 20 years of schooling gave her. |
Jean has served in just about every area of church ministry for children, women and leadership. She served at Providence Assembly of God, a ministry to the inner city for 23 years where she was on the board, Director of Christian Education, taught bible studies, and ran Vacation Bible School for 100 inner city children for a week every summer.
Jean has also taken two missions trips to rural India, where she led pastors conferences and preached in remote villages. |
