(Job 10:10, 1 Samuel 17, 2 Samuel 17)

1 Samuel 17:18 Take along these ten cheeses to the commander of their unit. See how your brothers are and bring back some assurance from them.

2 Samuel 17:27-29 When David came to Mahanaim, Shobi son of Nahash from Rabbah of the Ammonites, and Makir son of Ammiel from Lo Debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite from Rogelim brought bedding and bowls and articles of pottery. They also brought wheat and barley, flour and roasted grain, beans and lentils, honey and curds, sheep, and cheese from cows' milk for David and his people to eat. For they said, "The people have become hungry and tired and thirsty in the desert."

Job 10:8-11 "Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me? Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again? Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese, clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews? (note: Job is whining here)

Game One, 10 minutes: Scrambled Word Game

Song, 5 minutes: On Top of Spaghetti, sung in a WHINY voice!

Game Two, 25 minutes: Use a sheet of chart paper for each group to create a list of the Top Ten Things Women Whine About, then have a representative from the group share with everyone. Tape on the wall and compare them.

Transition: Quote Philippians 2: 14 Do everything without complaining or arguing… (expect them to whine!) then read the following, from the internet:

Bible Lesson, 45 minutes

Theme: Believers should encourage one another and build each other up (1 Thess 5:11)

Use examples of believers who supported each other:

Moses w/ Aaron & Hur (Exodus 17:9-13)
Ruth supporting Naomi ( Ruth 1:8-19)
Barnabas supporting newly converted Saul (Acts 9:26-28)
Barnabas supporting John Mark (Acts 15:36-40)

Close with Galatians 6:9-10 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Ask: Who belongs to the family of believers? Give an invitation to accept Christ.
