Jesus' Last Week

Introduction
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all recount Jesus' final days before the resurrection.   Each year at Eastertime, Christians hear the familiar story of the crucifixion and resurrection.   Read in isolation, these accounts often appear to contradict with one another.  In this study, we will look at the events as they are presented by each of the New Testament writers in an attempt to look at the whole picture.

Chuck Swindoll tells a story of several people traveling together, each equipped with a camera.  When the photographs are developed and compared side by side, it may appear that the travelers were on a separate journey because each focused on something different.  The same holds true with the writers of the gospels.  Each holds a unique perspective of the same story.  In this study, we will be laying those photos side by side to compare the details of events we will withness through their eyes.

In this study, the four gospel accounts have been laid out side by side for each event beginning with Thursday.  Each topic is separated  for ease of reading, and should be read in each gospel and compared to see the details of the entire picture.

We will be using the Inductive method to study, which utilizes questions and observations about the text to derive meaning from it.  We will do three things in every lesson: Observe, Interpret and Apply, to see what the Bible has to say for itself and allow the Holy Spirit to help us apply the things we discover.

You may complete each lesson at your own pace.  You'll want to follow them in sequence, since the topics build on one another.  Feel free to email me if you have questions or comments about what you are learning.
